EPIC Concept/Rules/Guidlines WTF ever you want to call it-
I've been involved with E-Wrestling for over 22 years, and I've seen it change a lot. I think the biggest change is that everything about it has gotten bigger and more complicated. With EPIC I'm trying to make things more simple. With that being said here is what to expect.
Everyone expects flashy websites with a ton of features, you won't get that here. We may have a website in the future but for the time being we will be forum based and when/if we do get a website it will be very simple.
I've also found that people for the most part don't read matches and just skip to the winners so in EPIC matches will be a one paragraph maybe two at the most recap of what happened in the match.
EPIC is 100% ANGLE based.
That said it's probably not going to be the style of angle fed most people are used to these days. Cards will not be made public, but rather booked between the fed heads, other staff, and the handlers themselves backstage. Think about it like a real life wrestling promotion, you might get a few matches released as a preview to hype the show but they never layout the whole show ahead of time. We won't either. There will be an outline of the show posted backstage with the matches and empty segment slots for people to claim.
Segments will be what drives the show. Interact with each other, tell your story but include others and build a connected World.
I will give you the opportunity to find your own feuds and angles but in some cases when we have a specific direction we want to move in I'll assign you someone to work with. Once a feud has either been agreed upon by two or more people or assigned by me you must submit a rough outline of the feud including the duration, key matches that need booked to progress the story, and a WINNER to the final match.
Yes you will decide who wins the feud in order to advance all characters involved. Winning and losing DOES NOT MATTER in the long run, it's the story you tell. If I think the person who came out on the losing end of a feud put in more work and did a better job of telling their story and getting their character over that is who will be moved up the card and given bigger opportunities. Even if the work put in and everything involved in the feud was equal in some cases the loser could be the one getting an opportunity if that's what I see fit based on the needs of the fed.
NPCs or non-player characters will be a valuable part of the fed as authority figures, in character staff, side characters, and wrestlers. They are to be respected and not used without my approval. The NPCs who wrestle are not to be considered jobbers and will win matches, possibly even championships if it suits the direction of the fed or a particular story.
Everything CHAMPIONSHIP related is decided by the two fed heads. If we put a title on you it means you earned it in our eyes by the work you put in. I'll assign the next contender and then the two of you will do the same as you would in a non-title feud except for picking a winner.
Twitter is a great tool for selling you feuds and world building but is not required and if you don't have one it will not hurt you in the fed. The content you produce for the shows will be the only thing that factors into your push and card placement. If you tweet all day every day but don't submit anything for the shows you won't be successful here. We have a group message/chat on Twitter but you don't have to be a part of it.
No real wrestlers are to be used... or even mentioned. In my E-World WWE, AEW, NJPW, TNA, RoH, or any other real promotions or wrestler does not exist. If that's something you're used to including in your writing and you slip up I'll let you know about it the first time and it won't affect anything. If you do it again, I'll stop reading at that point and we'll have problems. Sorry if that sounds harsh but it's always been a pet peeve of mine.
There is no limit on the amount of characters you may handle. As long as there is room on the roster and you are able to write for each character I have no problem with one person controlling multiple characters. Just use common sense, I don't expect anyone will try to handle more than two maybe three characters at the most.
Please try to make your character realistic in all aspects including height, weight, and gender. I want to convey a sense of reality in our product. Don't join as someone 8 foot tall and 600lbs, you'll get turned away. I would feel the same way if someone joined with a midget character, or a zombie, or a vampire, or a cannibal or something like that. I've seen it all in this game. I have a vision for this place that I'd like to maintain that is grounded in the real world, with that being said if there is room on the roster I won't turn anyone away. If you think your character would work here but aren't sure talk to me.
Use common sense in your writing, don't rape, murder, or commit any other crimes that you'd be put in prison for. If you're planning to do something but you're unsure about it talk to me, I'm easy to work with.
In 2010-2011 EPIC was originally based in Corpus Christi, Texas because it's the hometown of the in character fed head. The relaunch in 2020 will see EPIC operating just outside of Boulder City, Nevada. On the banks of Lake Meade at Boulder Beach, The Chaos Complex a fictional arena similar to Full Sail Arena or the ImpactZone, is where weekly broadcast will be held. PPV's and an occasional weekly show will be held in various locations around the US and Canada.
The Weekly show, EPIC CHAOS will be held on Monday, PPV's will be held on Sunday so there will be no CHAOS on PPV weeks. Content deadline will be 8pm Eastern US Time on Monday. Expect results sometime between 9pm and 2am the same day.
Epic will have three singles championships available upon launch. First of course is the EPIC World Title. The secondary title will be the EPIC Chaos Champion which is seen as the last step before the World Title and feature a Lucky 7 rule where after 7 defenses the title holder can cash it in for a World title opportunity if they choose. The third title is our version of a Hardcore or Extreme title called the EPIC Violence Championship. The Violence Title will be defended frequently, and sometimes unexpectedly.
This is all I can think of right now. I want EPIC to be fun and competitive even though it is an angle based fed but not feel like homework.
So have fun and if I think of anything else I will add to this post and reply with what has changed.
