JC Keeton vs. Mystery Opponent
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Mayhem! We kickoff tonight's show with a match that’s had everyone excited, with the announcement of a new signee who can shake the very foundation.
Highlights of the entrances appear on the screen behind her as she continues her narration.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: JC came out to a strong reaction from the crowd. Then the crowd was shocked when the self anointed Crown Prince, Noah Field made his entrance.
Bridget steps to the side of the screen to show highlights of the match as it begins to kick off.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: As the match began, Noah, who was escorted by his wife Morgan, and former MMA star, Devil Drake, sent them to the back before the bell rang. As the match began the crowd was gifted with some outstanding chain wrestling that carried the early match and garnered a standing ovation Then the match started to pick up as the outstanding agility of both wrestlers came into play, with JC relying heavily on many variations of his beautiful dropkick and Noah showing off his vast array of DDT’s. This carried things to the finish where we’ll take you to the ring.
JC hits a big spinning uppercut followed by a standing dropkick. As the crowd cheers he goes to the top rope and flies off with a double stomp attempt to the chest, but Noah rolls out of the way then kips up and turns. As he does Noah kicks him and the gut and hooks the arms for Field Envy, but JC bridges him to the ground. JC pulls Noah back up to his feet and shoots him into the corner, following in with running drop kick. Noah ricochets out and JC tries to hook him with Ode to the Outlaw, but Noah side steps and lands a super kick as both collapse.
The referee starts the ten count, but both men get up just in time and meet in the middle of the ring where they start to trade punches. Noah starts to take control and backs JC into the corner. Then he hits a tornado DDT, but JC kicks out. Noah lifts JC up and hits two forearms, then backs up for another superkick only to be met with a cutter. The. JC bounces the ropes and goes for Youth in Motion, but Noah manages to catch him with a high angle fireman’s slam he calls Honour Killing. He goes for the cover and wins the match.
After the match the crowd is going nuts at the performance. Noah walks over to JC and stares down at him. Finally he extends his hand to help him to his feet and shakes his hand as the crowd goes wild.
Familiar Face
The backstage camera cuts in on the dressing room of one Mercy Payne. As the camera pulls back the crowd in the arena pops as they see a blonde headed man, with a pair of blue Billabong shorts, a matching button shirt, and leather thong sandals. Mercy’s cousin, Johnny Payne, pulls out his phone and turns it around to face himself.
Johnny Payne: Johnny here. I’m backstage at...well I’m not sure where. EPIC maybe? Either way, I’m here in Vegas, to see my little cuz hopefully win her first ever wrestling championship. But right now she’s too busy FaceTiming…
Johnny turns the phone to face Mercy. She holds her index finger up to Johnny as she wraps up her conversation with her manager/mouthpiece, CT Landon.
Mercy Payne: You need to get your drunk ginger-ass on the plane, like yesterday. I don’t pay you to diddle your maid.
A loud, boisterous laugh is heard followed by a hearty, thick Irish brogue.
CT Landon: Now c’mon lass, you know I only diddle your maid, not mine . I don’t shit where I eat ya know.
Mercy laughs as she stands up and walks over to Johnny, wrapping her muscular arm around his neck playfully as well as allowing CT to see him.
Mercy Payne: As you can see, I’ve got company from back home. CT, this is my cousin Johnny. Say goodbye Johnny.
She clicks off her phone and puts more pressure on the headlock.
Mercy Payne: So what brings you to Vegas, surfer boy? Come to see me kick some ass?
Johnny Payne: Sure as hell isn't the waves. Did you know that Las Vegas is in the middle of the desert?
Mercy lets go of him, giving him an incredulous look.
Mercy Payne: Seriously bro? You can’t be that much of a mouth breather. You’re starting to sound like J2.
Johnny Payne: Hey, he’s entertaining. And he’s not too bad, just has to figure things out.
Johnny reaches into his pocket and pulls out a hit box.
Johnny Payne: Is this legal here?
Mercy rolls her eyes and moves back to her seat.
Mercy Payne: It’s Vegas, what isn’t legal here? Just don’t blow it my way.
Johnny takes a hit from the one hitter in his box, holds it in a minute, then blows it out with a slight cough.
Johnny Payne: I’m sure some things aren’t legal here. Heroin, I hear that’s bad. Prostitution, I mean who needs an itchy crotch.
He holds it out.
Johnny Payne: C’mon, it’ll center you before your match. I mean when I won my first championship, I did a bong hit before the match.
Mercy Payne: I thought that was how you won the Maui Classic?
Johnny Payne: Nah, they make you pee in a cup before a surfing competition. And I never could talk Scarlett into peeing in a cup for me.
Mercy just shakes her head, causing her blonde locks to bounce.
Mercy Payne: She was always the square growing up. Hell, she snitched me out to Mom for fighting at school.
They are interrupted by a knocking at the door then a voice calling out.
J²: Partner, you in there? Can I come in?
Mercy sighs heavily before responding.
Mercy Payne: Yeah sure. There’s someone here you need to meet anyway.
J² walks in and starts to say something, then he pauses as he notices Johnny.
J²: Holy Balls!! You’re...you’re...you’re Johnny Payne.
Johnny Payne: Guilty..
Mercy Payne: Sonofabitch I knew it.. I’m gonna go grab something from craft service but you boys have fun.
The scene begins to fade-away as she exits.
#1 Contender for the EPIC Elite Championship
Super Tiger vs. Angel Kash
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Our next match, while not for a championship, has implications on who will be next in line. The number one contendership for the EPIC Elite Championship is up for grabs as Super Tiger finally gets the match she was looking for against Angel Kash. Will the masked wonder get one over on her rival, or will Angel find a way to pull off the upset? We turn our attention to the monitor to find out.
The bell sounds to start the match, a determined Super Tiger making sure she’s able to grab Angel before she’s able to get out the ring. She whips off Kash, but the larger woman is able to reverse it. A Side Slam attempt is countered into a beautiful Headscissors Takedown by Tiger. The small ball of mite is able to follow this up with several quick Arm Drags, Dropkicks, and wrapping it up with a step up Hurricanrana that gets a two count. Angel tries to beg off Tiger, but this doesn’t work which leads Kash to roll out the ring and begin running. Tiger gives chase, the two making a couple rounds out the ring, the official beginning the count. Angel switches directions and rolls in at the very last second, Tiger getting in a second too late. Angel celebrates her smarts like she already won the match, but doesn’t realize there is a very irritated little Tiger behind her. Angel turns around only to meet the stiff palm strike of Super Tiger, the masked wonder then spinning her around and delivering the “Starlight Express” (Dragon Suplex) bridging it and quickly tying the score up one fall each. Tiger grabs Angel, picking her up but the dazed princess desperately rakes at the mask of Super Tiger, managing to get her eyes through the holes in the mask. Angel recovers enough to deliver two wicked Hairtosses, going for the cover and getting a nearfall.
Angel picks up Tiger, smacking her across the face and looks to yank her across the ring but the slap awakens Super Tiger who strikes back and then drops Kash with a jumping Tornado DDT. Instead of going for the cover, Tiger heads up to the top, looking to hit Angel with the finishing exclamation point. While she is climbing up, Angel gives a sign to one of her security guards who tosses something over to her which she is barely able to catch. Super Tiger, turning to face the downed Angel, seeing her as nearly done, dives off the top and the krafty Kash, timing it perfectly with her security hopping on the apron to distract the referee, decks the soaring Tiger with diamond studded brass knuckles. Yelling for her security team member to get down, Angel goes for the cover, the official counting the three, allowing Angel the pinfall and victory.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: While the official didn’t see it, and his decision stands, we all know that Angel Kash’s victory tonight was one marred in controversy. What was a great match until the end wraps up at the 18 minute and 34 second mark. Later tonight we will see who Angel will end up challenging for the Elite Championship. But first, let’s take things over to backstage area once again for EPIC Mayhem exclusive moments.
An Unsettling Melody
The sound of a violin comes through the darkness. It is complimented by the sound of a chirping serenade of squeaks. The violin stops after a few strokes of the bow, letting the squeaking get louder.
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh…
The hushing sound comes over the squeaking, causing it to stop. There are a few more strokes of the violin. Once it stops again, a match is lit, pressed up against the bow as it begins going again, burning down as the light catches just a few quick seconds here and there of Skag’s face. His expression is somber.
Skag: Willkommen meine freunde. The show is about to begin. The song comes from the heart, void of any emotion. It is the worst kind of song.
The match extinguishes itself, causing the music to stop again. It starts up only once Skag has lit another match. This time, the bow mostly stays in one spot, giving us a better view of the half painted face, along with an extra special friend on his shoulder, a hooded rat, sitting comfortably upon his shoulder.
Skag: Hekate knows what I mean. The one and only soul to ever understand me. She travels amongst vessels to find her way to me. And now, we are graced by her presence. She has come to give me luck, because I need it tonight. I face off with Nanners, Dragan Hill, and my new favorite plaything, Maverick.
The match goes out, and Skag ignites a new one as he continues walking around the darkened space, playing the violin as Hekate leans in against his neck, preening herself and him.
Skag: I am afforded an opportunity at the Elite Championship, but I am not elite. I am the underbelly of wrestling. I am the disease that infects the spirit of it. I am by no means a champion. I would sooner fall on my own sword than wish to be the face of a company, because if I were the face, I would not sign a contract.
Skag lets us linger in darkness once more as he continues to play the violin, truly dancing the line of ear piercing and deeply beautiful.
Skag: I represent only one thing. Violence for the sake of violence. Chaos for all of its beauty. True order by way of anarchy. I am a walking contradiction, but I invoke thought. I represent comfort in darkness. I am a lot of things, but I am not this one.
Skag stops playing the violin. He lights another match and holds it up to a tarot card depicting “The Fool”. He sets it on fire, allowing us to see the darkened innards of an empty locker room. We also see Hekate watching intently as the flames spread over the card and light up the room even more as he walks forward with the card raised like a torch. His violin hangs at the side, and he uses his bow to fan the flame, causing Hekate’s eyes to seemingly glow.
Skag: It is tonight that I walk out just as I walked in. No championship. Only bruised and bloodied. Because I exist not to be the Elite Champion, but to cause as much pain as possible to Dragan Hill and Nanners as they get in my way. In the way of my ultimate goal. To unlock the inner beast hiding inside of Maverick. The one that is so obviously clawing at his insides, ready to tear it’s way out. Held back only by the sweet love of an unattainable boy. Tonight, he will see that no one is worth hiding your true self for. Tonight, we see what we all should have seen already. We see Maverick, reborn.
With that, Skag waves the card, causing the flame to go out. Hekate squeaks once more and we can hear Skag making soft baby talk in his native tongue. We hear the sound of a kiss before the violin begins playing again, getting softer and softer as Skag moves further and further away, leaving us in the dark, and silenced.
EPIC Tag Team Championships
Dizzie & Celina del Anil vs. Wydleside vs. The Kaiju Krushers (Rain Nighthawk/Hayato Sagara) vs. J² and Mercy Payne
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Our next match was a four way match to crown the first ever Tag Team Champions here in EPIC. The action got kicked off before the match even started.
Highlights show on a monitor next to Bridget as she narrates the action of the highlights.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Kaiju Krushers came out first, but before they could enter the ring they were ambushed by Wylde Side with steel chairs to the back of both of them. Then they began a brutal onslaught. Soon, the team of J-Payne, followed by Dizzie and Celina came out and it was complete chaos, with all 8 match participants fighting it out all over ringside and spilling into the crowd. This madness went on for nearly seven minutes before Mercy Payne rolled Dizzie into the ring and demanded the match be started, then went for a pin that was broken up promptly by Ethan Wylde. The match now finally underway, Mercy and J² took command, isolating Dizzie as they worked together well tagging in and out. Eventually Dizzie posted a comeback and then her and Celina took their turns isolating J² and cutting off the ring, until a blind tag lead to Nighthawk to come into the ring and take out both competitors. Soon after it lead to yet another brawl as all teams rushed in and fought it out. Then came the spot of the match when Celina did an insane twisting moonsault taking out nearly every competitor outside the ring, leaving only Sagara, Lucas Wylde, and Mercy Payne in the ring, with the referee unsure of who was even legal, and this is where we take you down to the ring for the finish.
Wylde levels Mercy with a big boot, followed by Sagara. Then he lifts Sagara up to military press him over the top and out of the ring, but before he can, Mercy chop blocks him at the knees, taking him down to his knee. Then Sagara nails him with a You Go Sleepy-Time, nearly kicking his head off of him, while Mercy hits a corkscrew roundhouse at the same time. The two then push Wylde under the rope and focus on each other. Sagara hits a series of kicks to the legs and midsection of Mercy, then lifts her up for a Death Valley Driver, but Mercy manages to slip from his shoulders, turns, and hits a step up enzuguiri, taking Sagara down to the mat. She runs to the ropes and when she does, J² blind tags in, causing Mercy to stop in her boots, she glares at J², who says “I got this” and slips into the ring. As he turns his attention from Mercy to Sagara, he gets levelled with the kick he calls You Go Sleepy-Time and falls to mat. Sagara covers, Mercy tries to break the pin, but Nighthawk grabs the foot and holds her back from the outside. The official finishes the three count and the Kaiju Krushers are the new tag team champions.
The new tag team champions stand in the ring celebrating their victory with the crowd. As the celebration dies down and the new champs go to the back, Mercy, who was outside with J², rolls him into the ring. J² apologizes for yet another loss, when Mercy gives him a hard kick to the throat and drops him. Then she drops to the mat and locks him an armbar and pulls back. J² screams in pain and taps, but Mercy keeps pulling back, until finally there’s a pop and snap heard. Satisfied, Mercy stands up, spits on J², and leaves the ring as medics rush to the ring.
Press Start To Continue
Daniel Dream appears sitting in front of the camera with his hands folded, his blue eyes stare through the camera.
Daniel Dream: “Game Over", a staple of every video game old and new as a vehicle to convey to the player that their efforts failed...that they didn't finish the task before them.
Replays show Daniel Dream finally tapping out to Madman after being trapped in Madman’s Heelhook for so long, Madman unconscious as Daniel looks around the suite while El Diablo made the pinned in the ring at REBIRTH, and finally RI5EN interrupting his match against Franke Lowe before the finish.
Daniel Dream: Whether it’s by running out of stamina, veering off the expected course, or simply failing to complete a mission in time...it is safe to assume that anyone who has played a video game has experienced this message at some point in their lives. I’ve experienced the “Game Over” message a lot in EPIC partially because things went wrong, although I’m certain nothing will go wrong with this opportunity.
A smile appears forced on Daniel’s face..
Daniel Dream: I was about to give up hope and fall deep into despair because I thought I had my moment taken away from me when I was attacked by RI5EN, I thought I lost this opportunity, I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am for this opportunity. The most amazing things in life tend to happen right at the moment you're about to give up hope. It's more than winning a championship. It's my life. It's my job. This should be good. Terra Manson and I were successful in a tag team match recently, we were born to succeed, not to fail.
The smile abruptly disappears as Daniel’s face becomes serious. Daniel points to himself.
Daniel Dream: I don’t care if Terra was born to succeed or fail, I’m a winner and I’m not going to let someone else take my moment ever again.
#1 Contender for the EPIC World Championship
Terra Mason vs. Daniel Dream
Bridget Lewis-Killings: In our second match that will crown a new number one contender, we will see the next World Championship challenger decided between Daniel Dream and Terra Mason. Dream, a former Violence Champion looks to add a second title to his EPIC accomplishments while Terra looks to gain her first one here in EPIC following her return a couple weeks ago. Which one of these two fan favorites will come out on top and set their path towards a possible World Title run? Let us look at the match highlights and find out.
Bridget turns the attention over to the monitor which brings us back to the ringside area mid-lockup as Dream uses his size advantage to force Terra back into the corner. A clean break happens which leads to Terra ducking under a second lockup attempt, using her speed and some leverage for a few quick pin attempts which Dream easily kicks out of. Terra maintains control over the match until she’s finally caught by Daniel who takes the offensive following a Wheelbarrow Stunner getting countered into Link’s Crossbow (Rolling Cutter).
Daniel now has his turn delivering a mixture of power and aerial moves, showcasing his all round skill while Terra shows her toughness by staying in the match. A nearly frightening moment takes place when Dream hits Terra with a crisp Spinning Heel Kick while she’s on the apron. Mason’s head would have surely hit the guardrail had it not been for Lenny who caught her just in time and gently let her down. Terra has a quick comeback shortly after, trapping Daniel in an Octopus Stretch before spinning out of it herself and delivering a Single Leg Facebreaker for a long two count. Her momentum is stopped short though when Dream nails her with Do a Barrel Roll (Cartwheel Death Valley Driver), the larger competitor then heading to the top rope. Daniel takes a little too much time though and Terra is able to meet him up top, the two exchanging stiff shots back and forth until both take an ugly tumble to the outside. With the official staring right at both downed competitors, Larue isn’t able to help Terra up. The referee then calls for the bell as neither Dream nor Terra can get back in the ring by the count of ten.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: While there was no set winner following the double count out finish, I am getting word that a rematch for the number one contendership will be taking place on Chaos next week with an added stipulation that there are no count outs in the contest. The official end time for the match is 17 minutes and 42 seconds.
Big Match Breakdown?
The camera’s feed switches over to a private room in the backstage area where we see Bridget Lewis-Killings sitting with a smile on her face. Seated on separate chairs at each of her sides are Ray Grant and Jasper Clarke.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Ladies and gentlemen please welcome to the second edition of the Big Match Breakdown where myself and my colleagues Jasper Clarke and Ray Grant give you the facts behind each competitor in our main event. Following this we will also be…
Bridget is suddenly interrupted by the door flying open and Drake Connors and Maverick Connors come storming in and chase Jasper and Ray out with wiffle ball bats. Taking their seats, Drake and Mav put on the erstwhile “experts” headsets on and greet Bridget as she is about to run away herself.
Drake Connors: No, no, it’s cool. Sit down Bridget. Mav and I are gonna do the big match breakdown. We cleared it with Quinn and everything.
This is but the first of many false statements to follow. Bridget has a seat warily eyeballing both volatile men. Mav couldn’t help but smirk at Bridget, giving a playful wink to the camera before speaking up.
Maverick: Exactly! You see Quinn wanted a special edition of the big match whatever the fuck where one member of RI5EN and one member of...I guess you can call them the good guy squad or something, give our takes on the two men in the main event and have you here because you’re indifferent. Or hot whichever works better for you.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Now see here…
Drake interrupts her.
Drake Connors: So let’s kick this whole thing off, shall we? Mav, I hear that back in his high school days, Baker played water polo, and that El D swims regularly with his children in their kiddy pool. I think that this will give both men tremendous amounts of staminamina.
Mav smirks.
Maverick: Wanna try that again, dad?
Drake smiles, his eyes shifting to Mav with a toothy grin, like a newcaster introducing a water-skiing squirrel.
Drake Connors: No, I do not!
Maverick: Great! So yeah pools and floaties definitely help in the stamina no mina needed department but I’m going to have to give the edge to Baker on this one because even the simplest of minds can keep from drowning in an inch of water. Now when it comes to…
Bridget Lewis-Killings: That’s not what the monitor says at…
Maverick: Now Bridget what did we say about trying to use that fancy degree of yours? Stop it. So anyway another matter to consider in this hotly contested match is grit and determination. While El D certainly holds his own dealing with corporate mules, Baker has this on his end too having to carry the dead weight of a certain former partner since December. Oh and also he volunteers at soup kitchens or something else that sounds wholesome and shit.
Drake Connors: I also have to give the edge here to Baker, but not because of carrying the dead weight of his former partner, but the dead weight of those Wildstyle fools.
Maverick: Side.
Drake Connors: Huh?
Maverick: WyldeSIDE, dad, come on.
Drake Connors: Just be glad I got close instead of calling them Wyld Stallyns like I usually do. Baker’s had to carry those tools on his back since they showed up here, and that takes some serious strength of will. Not to mention the need to keep that Hix guy stuck full of thorazine so he’s at least semi-focused and not petting dead bunnies or whatever it was that got PETA so upset. Now that I mention it, how’s your back, son? You’ve been carrying those Wyle E. Coyotes yourself.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Now Drake we’re not really allowed to discuss the PETA…
Mav snaps his fingers, followed by a wave of his index finger.
Maverick: To be honest my back is a little achy but that’s not why...ohhh shit…
Mav’s cheeks immediately begin to blush and he lowers his head a little bit.
Maverick: I’ve uhh...said too much...next fact please!
Drake Connors: Okay then… I hear the reason El D likes to set himself on fire is because the burning sensation reminds him of those awful burritos…
Maverick: Dude, dad, the Taco Bell guys are RIGHT THERE. STARING at us.
Drake Connors: Oh, shit, uh, I mean buy the new Butthole Destroyer from Taco Bell, guaranteed to make your ass weep tears of blood! Now pay me, muh fugga!
Both Drake and Mav’s phones go off simultaneously, and they check them.
Drake Connors: All right, direct deposit!
Maverick: Nice!
The two trade a high five, then Drake turns to the Taco executives.
Drake Connors: Now get outta here boys, ya bother me!
Bridget tries to apologize to the execs, but Drake whips a finger to her lips, silencing her. Mav giggles and snorts a bit as he moves on to the next “fact”.
Maverick: So I know this started out all funny but now I’m actually pretty hungry so the next fact is we need to get the fuck outta here and get some food.
Drake Connors: Straight up. So whatcha in the mood for?
Maverick: ANYTHING but Taco Bell.
Drake laughs as they exit under the glares of the Taco boys.
Drake Connors: Aight, cool. I’ll snag us something good from the commissary.
The scene fades out as Bridget begins to vehemently express her apologies on behalf of the company.
EPIC Violence Championship
Drake Connors (c.) vs. Eli Hix
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Following that interesting ordeal, we reach the second of our four championship matches tonight with Drake Connors defending the Violence Title against Eli Hix. Now while the majority of the highlights can not be shown due to the company trying not to enter legal action against a powerful fast food chain and PETA..again, we will show you what we can and hope you enjoy what was definitely a brutal match in what will be straight back to back coverage for our main event matches.
The monitor switches to a backstage scene where Drake Connors, still in his streets, is walking toward the commissary when out of nowhere Hix punches him in the lips! Drake staggers back from the punch, spits blood off to the side and shucks off his t-shirt. He can be heard to say “alright kid, let’s do this”, and it is on! The distant sound of the bell is heard and Hix, grinning creepily, swings another hard shot at Drake, who deflects the blow and bumps Eli with a short shoulder charge, bumping the challenger back.
The two continue to brawl wildly back and forth until they near the commissary table, where Drake picks up a wok filled stir fry. He tosses the stir fry into Hix’ face, who responds with a punch that Drake blocks with the wok. Eli’s fist makes a “BONG!” sound on the wok and he drops what appears to be a roll of quarters to the floor that roll towards Drake’s motorcycle booted foot. Drake drops the wok and toes the roll of quarters up into his right hand, then fires off an enhanced punch square into Hix’ throat! Hix is choking now, and Drake nails the Ring of Cocytus and pins Hix right there. A ref appears out of nowhere and counts 1! 2! 3!, and Drake retains!
Bridget Lewis-Killings: With the time capping at exactly 34 minutes, the Violence Champion Drake Connors retains the title against a very game Eli Hix. We at EPIC will be sure to have a medical update regarding Hix’ throat as well.
EPIC Elite Championship
Maverick (c.) vs. Dragan Hill vs. Skag vs. Nanners
Bridget Lewis-Killings: The second of our three back to back main events is the fatal four way match for the Elite Championship. The EPIC Elite Title scene has been one filled with plenty of competition, several defenses, and tonight marks another chapter in it as the champion has not one, but three challengers to fend off. There is no championship advantage tonight as Maverick doesn’t even have to be involved with the fall to lose his title. Will he continue his dominance following this contest or will one of his challengers, either Dragan Hill, Skag, or Nanners end his reign? We’ll find out right now.
The match begins with the four men splitting into pairs, Dragan going after the banana man that embarrassed him last week and the champion Maverick going after Skag. On one end, Nanners does his best to hold his own but is mostly getting clubbed down and hit with several different suplexes by Hill but any pin attempt made is either kicked out of or interrupted by a stomp. On the other end, Maverick and Skag are having more of an even affair, trading shots, maneuvers and both men even showing one another up using the other two as targets for their aerial offense. The fight between Skag and Maverick makes its way outside of the ring, both men tossing one another against the steel steps and guardrail. Maverick makes sure to lay in a stiff right hand to Skag’s face, busting his nose again, just to have the favor returned and thensome with the demented painted man dropping Maverick head first onto the stage with a Snapping DDT. Inside the ring, Dragan Hill gets another two count with a Gutwrench Suplex but the crowd wills Nanners to bring the fight back, the banana man surprising Hill with a counter of one of his moves leading to a pretty decent Knee Lift for a two count.
Back on the outside Skag starts climbing up the decorative stage, the crowd looking on in wonder. Maverick starts to stir and begins to climb up after Skag, both men getting dangerously high up in the air. Meeting side to side, the two trade strikes and slams of their heads against the steel, struggling to hang on for their lives. Suddenly both men go flying off, having been hooked for a Spanish Fly which sends them both crashing into the production equipment below. Several sparks go off as some of the electricity is short circuited. Both Dragan and Nanners, who brawled their way to the top of the entrance way, look over to the carnage just a few feet away. Hill tries to take advantage of the situation, but the banana gives him the slip, going behind him and clubbing him in the back a few times. Using pure instinct, or just by luck, Maverick manages to place a limp hand on top of Skag’s chest just as Hill tosses Nanners off the stage and onto the hard ground below. However, he is just a few seconds late capitalizing as the referee finally noticed the limp cover and counted the fall in favor of the champion who retains.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: I honestly don’t even know what to say aside from congratulations to our champion for gritting through the pain and retaining in what was easily the most shocking moment of the night so far. He was able to get the pinfall at the 26 minute and 48 second mark. We at EPIC also wanted to state that we will be following up on the condition of both the champion Maverick and Skag following that frightening fall off the stage.
EPIC World Championship
El Diablo Blanco (c.) vs. Graham Baker
Bridget Lewis-Killings: While some personnel have left to tend to three of the wrestlers in our last match, I am getting word that the show will proceed with our final main event match of the evening. The EPIC World Championship, introduced at REBIRTH, has gone from one esteemed champion to another in quick fashion but while El Diablo Blanco has shown his fortitude in the ring in the past, he has yet to face such an opposing threat as Graham Baker with RI5EN at his side. Even with two members unable to join his side for this match, Baker still holds the numbers game over the valiant champion. Will El D beat the odds and retain the World Title or will RI5EN claim its second championship tonight? Let us leave you now with the highlights, we hope you enjoy.
The bell sounds to signify the start of the much anticipated main event of the night. Opting against the usual lockup, Baker and El D both come out swinging, neither man gaining the initial advantage over the other. Just as the champion looks to be gaining the upper hand on his challenger, Baker cheap shots him, giving a quick thumb to the eye and close range knee to the gut before taking control of the match. From that point it was all Baker but with each brutal kick which led to a Skullfuck (Backslide Driver rolled forward into a low-angle Superkick), Ripcord Knee, Shotgun Knee which led to the Kiss The Sky (German Suplex from the middle rope), there was a kick out which gave the fans more hope. Clearly growing frustrated with each bit of life the champion showed, the strikes became harder, the counts closer, but still nothing would put El D away. The World Champion showed more fire as he moved out the way of Baker’s Diving Double Foot Stomp, the challenger rolling back to his feet in time to meet a Roundhouse Kick from the champ. However as El Diablo Blanco went to continue his offensive comeback with a Powerbomb, Baker was able to land a couple shots, stunning the champion long enough for Graham to shift his body and nail a Poisonrana for another nearfall. It’s at this moment that Baker throws up a hand gesture, and out come Ethan and Lucas Wylde running to the ring. However, before they can get very far, the duo is taken out with kendo stick shots to the body and head from Dizzie and Celina del Añil who ran out just as the brothers did.
Baker looks more irritated than anything else but when he turned around and saw the champion back on his feet he looked to backpedal a bit. Going for another cheap shot following a fake apology, Baker is met with himself being caught and leveled with a huge lariat by the champion. El D yells out enthusiastically as the Diablitos in the crowd cheer him on. He nails a few stiff strikes to Baker each time Graham gets up before ending his flurry with a big Running Knee for a two count. As El D looks to pick Graham up for another move, Baker shimmies out of it and pushes the World Champion into the official, knocking the ref down before delivering a kick in between the legs, bringing the champion down to his knees before nailing him with the Make Knee-ce With Your God (Rebound Knee Strike to the back of the head of a kneeling opponent). Baker tries to revive the referee but is stopped as from a distance he sees a ghost, and one that has the fans cheering like crazy.
JC Keeton comes charging down the ramp with a steel chair in hand. He baseball slides in and before Baker can even get a single syllable out, JC clocks him in the face with the chair with a home run hit to the challengers’ head. Far from done, JC works Baker over with the chair from head to toe, then finishes him off by putting his leg in the chair and stomping it, then hits Baker one final time in the dome. JC eyes Baker intensely, then drags El D over and drapes him on top of Baker. As he exits the ring, he tickles the ref’s butt with a finger. The ref wakes up with a start, sees the pinning solution and begins the count.
