Backstory: Johnny grew up in Huntington Beach, California. He comes from a big family of athletes, with his mother being a rock climber, his dad a marathon runner, an uncle who was kickboxer, another who was a professional surfer, and an aunt who played Olympic soccer. Johnny grew up a beach rat, loving surfing more than anything. When Johnny was 16, he dropped out of high school and began surfing professionally, and quickly rose to the top of the sport. His talent in surfing led to some stints on reality television, and eventually Johnny broke into wrestling not long after his younger sister, Scarlett, pursued the same path.
Backstory of Amazing Juanito: According to the tales told by Juanito himself, he’s a fifth generation lucha libre, and is looked at like a superhero in his home country where everyone looks up to him. Amazing Juanito also swears he has never met Johnny Payne, but it’s one of his heroes.
