Walk Away
Chaos comes on the air with the crowd inside the Chaos Complex on its feet cheering like crazy for the man in the ring holding a microphone, JC Keeton. JC, dressed in jeans and a light blue t-shirt, paces back and forth waiting for the crowd to die down. When they finally do he takes the center and speaks.
JC Keeton: You hear a lot of people say they were born to do this or born to do that but when it comes to me and pro wrestling it's true. This is in my blood from a father who was a household name at the peak of his career, winning eleven World Championships and multiple hall of fame inductions to my birth mother who succumbed to her demons before she could even come close to reaching her potential but won Female Rookie of the Year for every wrestling publication back in 96 when those magazines were how you got your wrestling news not some dirt sheet. As much as everyone in my life before last December tried to push me away from it I knew as soon as I was old enough to form coherent thoughts that this was what I was meant to do. Which is why what I'm about to say is without a doubt the hardest thing I've ever said in my life…
The silent crowd, almost sensing what's coming hangs on his every word as tears well up in his eyes.
JC Keeton: I…
He sniffs trying to hold it together.
JC Keeton: I'm sorry y'all I promised myself I wouldn't do this but this just means so much to me. To stand here right now at 22 years old and tell you all that the doctors have said that one more concussion could end my life and I have to announce my retirement breaks my fucking heart….
He lowers his head, putting the microphone to his side and just lets it out. Tears roll down his cheeks and drip onto his shirt making the blue a darker shade where they land. The camera pans the crowd, some of which are showing the emotion of the moment on their faces as well before returning to JC who wipes his eyes and tries to compose himself.
JC Keeton: I had all this stuff planned out in my head with what I was gonna say and a whole list of people I wanted to thank and some I wanted to apologize to but my thoughts are all running together. I know the first name though is probably a shock and that's Analicia Morales-Connors. I want to thank you for taking a chance on me in CCW which resulted in the highlight of my career and making sure I had a place here in EPIC even though we didn't see eye to eye on much. I also wanna apologize… for not listening to you and coming back from my previous concussion too soon. If I hadn't been so angry and defiant we might not even be having this conversation. I'm sorry to you and Drake for things I said as well.
He scans the crowd seeing the stunned expression after his thank you and apologies.
JC Keeton: If that one didn't put your jaws on the floor this one is sure to… thank you Graham Baker. Thank you for being my friend when I needed it, for giving me a place to stay when I had no where to go, and for giving me the kind of rival that I wanted to fight forever. I know that deep down you're not a bad guy, you just got a little greedy. I forgive you and don't want you to blame yourself cause the responsibility for this lies solely on the shoulders of Noah Field.
The fans boo the mere mention of The Crown Prince.
JC Keeton: Oh he'll get his, there's enough people that care about me that even though it won't be at my hands vengeance is coming for him in one form or another. On the subject of people that care about me I have to mention Dizzie. She's amazing and I don't think anyone has ever cared about me that much. I don't know what to say Dizz other than I'm sorry you're having to find out this way. Wrestling brought you into my life and I was so afraid that without it I'd lose you too. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me and I thank you for always being so supportive and caring. I.. I love you…
You can hear a collective "Awwww" coming from the crowd as he just places the mic on the mat and walks out of the ring towards the back with his head hung.
Jaysen St. Cloud vs. Vanessa Darquesse
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Wow, I’m not exactly sure how to follow up on that stunning revelation other than to wish JC Keeton well and say that I’m sorry about these recent developments. I do have to still bring you to the action here tonight and our first featured contest is the debut match for Jaysen St. Cloud. Jaysen comes to EPIC from South Africa, having been trained by Jamie Staggs. His opponent tonight Vanessa is looking to spoil his debut and earn her first victory here in EPIC. Which one of these two will secure the victory? Let’s take a look and see.
Bridget brings our attention to the monitor which brings us to the action partway through. Darquesse has St. Cloud on the ropes, having just hit a Snap-Kick to the chin but the staggered Dynamo comes back with a Spinning Heel Kick on the rebound. Maintaining control, Jaysen is able to wow the crowd with his athleticism, showcasing such moves as the Shooting Star Bulldog, Mooi Man! (Five Star Frog Splash), and Aweh Aya (Rolling Senton) each bringing the match ever so closer to its finish. While Darquesse tries to mount a comeback, she’s taken off guard following a failed lariat and hit with the Durban Dynamo (Looks like he is about to Leapfrog opponent, but holds onto their arms like bike handles, posing mid air, and swings back into a Codebreaker) pinning her in the middle of the ring for the victory.
The Smile’s Not Gone?
Cameras switch over to the backstage area where we see an emotional JC Keeton hesitantly approaching one of the locker room doors, as if he was both sure and unsure of what was waiting for him on the other side. Slowly he opens the door, closing it behind him, and steps in to find a brunette woman with multicolored tint in her hair standing with her back turned. A few sniffles and a sigh can be heard but before Keeton can even draw a breath to begin speaking, the woman turns to him, tears streaming down her face, her obvious identity being revealed as Dizzie. She puts her right hand up to stop him before beginning to softly speak.
Dizzie: You.. you had your turn to talk when you went out there. Now you gotta hear what I have to say.
Dizzie stops for a moment, using her raised right hand to wipe some tears before lowering it and trying her best to express her thoughts.
Dizzie: I wanna be like..why. Why wouldn’t you tell me before and… why would you think I’d ever leave after… and why you’d thank me when you know I’m not doing this for.. and I don’t know if I can do this without… but…
Needing a moment to gather herself together, Dizzie pauses before continuing.
Dizzie: But all I really wanna say is that I love you too and I’m so, so sorry…
He coughs, choking back his own tears before taking her hand. With his free hand he uses his thumb to wipe away a tear that was rolling down her cheek.
JC Keeton: I'm just so afraid of life without this, without being in the ring, being in the locker room, long road trips and short flights to be on two shows the same day, just everything about it but I was most afraid of losing you. In the last week since the Docs told me I was done for good I've played and replayed every possible scenario and, even though I don't think you will, in my messed up head they all end with you leaving.
Dizzie softly shakes her head after hearing the last sentence spoken. Though still a little shaky, she speaks up in a reassuring tone.
Dizzie: I wouldn’t, I won’t. I ain’t leaving, not after everything we’ve been through and especially not because of something like this you can’t control. I need you to know that wrestler or not, you kinda got stuck with me now and I don’t think my family will honor a return policy.
Trying her best to drum up a laugh, she ends up tearing a bit more.
Dizzie: As far as life goes, we’ll figure that out together, and if it’s too much for me to be here, I can join you in walking. You mean more to me than anything and I mean that.
He smiles lightly for what feels to him like the first time in a week but then shakes his head.
JC Keeton: That's the last thing I want is for you to give up your dream just because I have to, I'd never ask you to do that or expect you to. If all I'm able to do is be your biggest fan then I'll be in the front row cheering you on every week. You ok with having your own traveling cheerleader?
Dizzie can’t help but let out a few chuckles.
Dizzie: You know I’m more than okay with that, even if you cheering is anything like your dancing. It’ll be nice always getting to travel together for a change. Plus we can have some trips together like we been planning for a while now. It ain’t gonna be easy but we’ll make sure you’ll be okay.
He wraps his arms around her as she places her head against his chest.
JC Keeton: I'll have my days where it'll be hard to smile but as long as I got you I know my smile's not gone for good cause you always find it.
He squeezes her and rests his chin on her head, closing his eyes, as we fade.
The Befriending
The scene switches over to a previously recorded segment on location. The somewhat hazy image from what is seemingly a webcam shows Hayato Sagara standing there, a shadow off to the side giving him a signal to begin.
Hayato Sagara-Connors: Skag. You are a cartoon. A coloring box of a Saturday morning villain twirling his mustache with pretensions at culture with that gods awful racket you call violin playing.
A single distant chuckle can be heard which causes Hayato to pause a moment before continuing.
Hayato Sagara-Connors: You hang out with rats because humans cannot stand your company. You live in the sewers because you see yourself as this grand figure, a Phantom of the Poopera. A little “Engrish” for you because you seem to think I’m some ignorant child. I am not, Skag. I have seen the darkness in MY Mav-kun, my now HUS-BAND, we got married, fool, and I am not frightened by it. I have seen the worst living in the streets of Kyoto, scrounging for food, fighting other starving children just for a scrap of food or a taste of drink. I have seen horrors you wouldn’t, couldn’t imagine because what you are, Skag, is a man with a pathetic deathwish who gets his rocks off tormenting people who want nothing to do with you. It’s as though you’re in the mindframe that all attention, even negative, is better than no attention at all.
Hayato now pauses on his own accord, gathering his thoughts and continuing, still speaking in a calm manner.
Hayato Sagara-Connors: So... I will try a different tack. I will befriend you as a real friend, I will tolerate your strangeness, and hope that I can guide you out of the darkness that lies to you just as it does my dearest. You both have sparks of light. Perhaps I will be the one to help you to fan those sparks into flames... Just make no mistake, should you try to push MY MAV-KUN into the ultimate darkness again, I will show you what darkness lies in me.
The distant shadow gives a signal for Hayato to wrap things up bringing forth another brief pause.
Hayato Sagara-Connors: I will not let anger rule me, but you should remember this: there is a darkness inside us all. Even me. Push me too far, and you will discover why I was a force to be reckoned with in Japan. Keep this proverb always in your mind, Ratman: 戦争の庭師よりも庭の戦士である方が良いです。
The shadow is quick to begin fumbling around with the camera until the feed abruptly cuts.
Kader Hasheem vs. Onyx
Bridget Lewis-Killings: After that stern message we move on to the next debut of the night which features The Iranian Crusher Kader Hasheem taking on the veteran Onyx. Kader made some interesting comments last week as well as a proposal to another EPIC star in Angel Kash. While we do not know the full story behind that just yet, we do know that Hasheem is looking to impress so let’s take a look and see how things went.
The bell sounds as the focus switches to ringside, Kader already showing his mighty power by pushing Onyx back on the initial lockup. Hasheem then picks Onyx up, whipping him into the corner with such a force that the 25 year veteran goes crashing down onto the canvas. Kader wastes no time in finishing his opponent off, once again lifting the other big man to his feet and delivering The Thunder (Triple German Suplex followed by a bridging pin) for the easy victory.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Kader starts his EPIC career in impressive fashion, taking care of Onyx in just under two minutes here tonight.
Don’t Get Canceled
Omaha Hardcore, the pairing of Flip Haze and Rosie Sinn, are in the green room. While Rosie sips on a bottle of apple juice, Flip fills his face with a plate of cheese, crackers, and Oberlie slices. Then he looks up and talks with a mouth full of food.
Flip Haze: Is that camera gonna follow us around all night?
Rosie Sinn: Sure is. It’s a thing they are tryin’ out apparently, and since we’re so damn entertaining all the time we are the guinea pigs.
Flip Haze: I never understood guinea pigs. Wikipedia says they aren’t from Guinea, and they as hell aren’t pigs. They’re just cute mouses.
Rosie Sinn: Mice, they are mice, not mouses. Anyhow, the cameras. They’re just following us around apparently and if we do anything entertaining or pertinent to the show, they’re going to try cut in live. If it’s not needed live, they’ll splice into the show the first chance they get. It’s clever, I guess.
Flip Haze: (shoving more food in his mouth and nodding) So how’s Iggy?
Rosie Sinn: Oh, you know, being a little overly cautious. He’s got a concussion, not cleared, and if he takes a hit of any kind on the head he may not make next weeks Pay Per View, so he’s literally barred himself up in a room somewhere here so nobody can get to him until the contract signing. Later tonight.
Flip Haze: (laughing) So no different I see. Guess that means he isn’t goin’ out there with us for our match?
Rosie Sinn: Nah, man, we’re f’n on our own, which all good. Should...uhh...you be eating that much?
Flip Haze: (still eating) Iron stomach. Nothing slows me down.
Rosie Sinn: Kay, man. I don’t wanna see you f’n spew in the ring. We’re trying to impress here and work our way to a tag title shot. I don’t see that happening if you spew all over our opponents tonight.
Flip Haze: I’m good. Promise. But what is this impress here? We’re Omaha Hardcore, we’ve won more awards and belts than the whole tag team roster combined.
Rosie Sinn: It’s called a fresh start, buddy. New federation. The others have put in the work, now we have to. Think of it as us planting a seed in a new place, and cultivating it until it blossoms.
Flip Haze: (talking with a mouth full of food) Speaking of planting seeds....have you seen that Dizzie yet...she’s…
Rosie Sinn: (Interrupting) Whoa, whoa there buddy. This is the MeToo era, you can’t say stuff like that anymore. They’ll Weinstein ya....
Flip Haze: Can I think it?
Rosie Sinn: Think away, but keep those thoughts to yourself or you’re f’d....
And the two continue their idle chatter while the camera fades out.
The V.I.P. Treatment
“Superficial” by Heidi Montag begins to play on the sound system, the fans immediately booing as they know what this means. The red carpet rolls out and stepping out onto the stage in a gold dress, gold Jimmy Choo high heels, and a matching Chanel handbag is the Trillion Dollar Princess Angel Kash. She poses at the top of the ramp, soaking in all of the boos from the fans, surrounded by her security. Angel begins strutting arrogantly down the ramp, entering the ring where her makeshift VIP area is set up. As she takes her seat Angel orders one of her guards to get a microphone. Once she takes it, she motions for her music to be cut so that she may begin.
Angel Kash: Welcome peasants, to my VIP area. As you can see it has been moved a bit for now. Don’t worry though, I can always get another made at ringside anytime I want and do you know why? Because I am Angel Kash and I always get what I want. But tonight isn’t about all that, tonight is about my very special guest. The most beautiful woman in this company, the face of EPIC wrestling, please welcome the soon to be Elite Champion….ME!
The fans boo loudly at Angel's introduction, which causes her to roll her eyes. As she soon places the microphone up to her lips, she snaps her fingers and a mirror is brought in front of her so that she may begin the interview.
Angel Kash: So glad to be here! As a very important person it's only fitting that I would be here in the VIP area. Speaking of VIP and glamorous this outfit of mine I know you all must be wondering where does Angel get such beautiful things and how much do they cost? Well I get my dresses all custom made for me in Italy and they easily cost more than your rent you peasants.
The fans boo the Princess who smugly laughs before snapping her fingers, turning her attention to one of the stage hands as she yells at him.
Angel Kash: You, get in here now!
The stagehand gets in nervously as Angel points to where a makeshift drink area is set up.
Angel Kash: Pour me a glass of champagne to enjoy this moment will you?
The stagehand goes to do it, as the fans greet this with boos. The Princess then turns her attention back to the camera as she begins to speak.
Angel Kash: So last week while you were minding your own business, and even tried to refresh the champion because he was thirsty, he had the gaul to try to attack you. My biggest question is how do you continue to be such a saint despite poor treatment from people like Maverick?
Angel smiles, now looking at the mirror before answering in the same arrogant tone.
Angel Kash: Simple really, because I am naturally a nice woman. And I saw how he was struggling and figured he could use a drink being the thoughtful woman I was. I offered him some and he goes and attacks me? Thank god for my security because otherwise that peasant would of been able to put his hands on me. And that would be just plain gross. He, just like the rest of you have to wait. I know it hurts his feelings and you losers as well, but I am too good to be wrestling on Amazon Prime.
The fans boo as the stage hand comes and hands her the champagne. As he tries to go Angel stops him and points down, snapping at him in a bitchy tone.
Angel Kash: On your hands and knees now! This is my VIP area and you will do what I say.
The stagehand complies as Angel then rests her feet on him smirking. The fans really let her have it now but she ignores them and continues to speak in the same arrogant tone.
Angel Kash: See, this company needs a high status champion. El Diablo Blanco, and Maverick? They don’t measure up. It’s time for a change, and that change is me. I mean look at me. I am amazing, stylish, an utter perfection. I mean I chased out Super Tiger. Soon enough Maverick will lose what he holds dear, and finally this company can have a true champion.
Angel laughs loudly before she continues to speak.
Angel Kash: So true. Now another question we often get is after you win the EPIC Elite Championship how do you plan on celebrating?
Angel nods her head, with a huge smirk still plastered on her face.
Angel Kash: Not around these people that is for sure. But my prince and I will be partying it up inside our hotel suite away from all of you, and all of the other poor people. Do you know why? Because none of you deserve our time or attention. And the Elite title will be my crown jewel whether you like it or not because EPIC Wrestling is all about Angel Kash.
The fans boo loudly as Angel stands up allowing the stage hand to leave. She poses arrogantly before dropping the microphone, motioning around her waist as “Superficial” plays on the sound system once again.
Devil Drake vs. Ryan Castle
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Our next match of the night is the debut of former MMA phenom and Gold Standard member, Devil Drake, as he squares off with Ryan Castle, who has seen a bit of a rough start to his EPIC career of starting off on Damien Maddox’s radar. There really wasn’t a whole to this match, so we’ll show you the action from beginning to end.
In the ring the bell rings. As he does, Castle charges at Devil with a clothesline, but Devil no-sells. Castle hits the ropes and rebounds back with another clothesline, but he barely even moves Devil. Castle next tries chopping the chest of Devil, hitting one, two, three, four, and finally five chops. Then he grabs the arm of Devil and tries to whipping him across the ring, but Devil stops him in his tracks, then pulls him in and hits a clothesline that nearly rips his head off. Devil violently pulls Castle off the mat then hits a double powerbomb, but instead of releasing on the third he places Castle on his shoulders and hits Brute Force (Fireman’s carry into a spinning slam). Then he scrapes Castle off the mat again, and this time hits his finisher, Devil’s Due (burning hammer). Devil doesn’t even show him the respect of a real pin, instead he places his foot on Castle’s chest and the referee makes the three count as Devil picks up the easy win.
No Guilt
A pre-taped segment starts to air as the fans see a pulled back shot of Damien Maddox seated on a brown leather chair with a black background. In the chair across from him is Bridget Lewis-Killings. The backdrop is black, setting a certain tone and feel for the interview before a word is uttered. Then the camera zooms in a little bit, perfectly framing the two as the interview begins.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: I’m here with Damien Maddox, the newly named number one contender for the Violence Championship. (turning to Damien) You asked for this interview, anything specific you want to discuss.
Damien Maddox: (Licks his lips before speaking) You’re an intelligent woman. Let’s see where you take this.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Very well. First, I suppose is I’d like to ask you your thoughts about the harsh words from Drake Connors last week.
Damien Maddox: They are just that, words. It’s him reaching for every cliché he can. The angry “TV: MA” language that he feels makes him sound more convincing and edgier while really making him sound like a complete idiot? Check. The whole “I’m not a good guy, I’m the king of violence nonsense? Check. He successfully became every cliché seen today out of the so call “Kings of Hardcore” or whatever nonsense the current lingo wrestling fanboys are using. The only unexpected thing he did was run a hide. Do you not see the contradiction? He’s some kind of God of Violence, the longest reigning champion, blah blah blah...but yet he hides and says he wants to make me wait for a title match? Really showing his fortitude there. And really, Bridget, what kind of accomplishment is being the longest reigning Violence Championship anyway? The belt is barely three months old and he’s the fifth champion? That’s like being the fastest kid at fat camp.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: What if he does make you wait for a title match? Will you lay down and leave his family alone?
Damien Maddox: I do what I want to do, when I want to do it. I don’t abide by mans rules, and I sure don’t abide by EPIC”s rules. What Drake Connors doesn’t seem to understand is that it’s not about the belt. It’s about picking a man and making an example. It’s about showing the world just what Damien Maddox could do. I thought Ryan Castle would be that, but I lost attention in that far too soon. But who better to make a statement than to make the same man who did set his friend on fire? What people around here don’t understand, what none of you could fathom is myself and Asylum aren’t here to worry about championships. We’re not concerned with fame, or entertainment. If we reap those benefits, then so be it. But what we are here to do is get enjoyment through the suffering of others. We are sadist of a true nature. Sadism is for the strong willed, masochism is for the weak.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: But going after his own daughter instead of him? Why? And don’t you feel guilty?
Damien Maddox: A great man once said “I don’t feel guilty for anything. I feel sorry the people who feel guilt.”
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Who said that?
Damien Maddox: Ted Bundy. Point being, guilt is for the weak. Guilt is for those who don’t live by the creed I live by, which is to do whatever makes my life enjoyable, despite what it may do to others. Drake Connors is so full of himself he has himself convinced that the sole reason behind attacking him was to gain a shot at his beloved belt. What he doesn’t understand is that I want to make him feel pain, and how do you make a man feel pain who puts his body the things he has put his body through? You go through those he loves. Pain is just physical. Pain is emotional as well, and sometimes those emotional pains are more far reaching that the physical.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: I have to know, are you really some crazy psychopath?
Damien Maddox: (Licking his lips again) High functioning. I was born with the devil in me. I cannot help the fact that I’m a psychopathic madman, no more than the poet can help the inspiration to sing. I was with the evil one standing as my sponsor beside the bed where I was ushered into the world, and he has been with me since. Now I think I’m done talking…
The camera pulls back and then the recording slowly fades to black.
Pick Your Rival’s Opponent
Mercy Payne vs. Devon Levine
Johnny Payne vs. Red Dragon
Highlights start to show as Bridget Lewis-Killings narrates what’s going on in the studio.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Next up we have a series of two back to back matches. This past Thursday on Twitter, Johnny Payne called out his cousin, Mercy, asking to pick her opponent this week. In return, Mercy asked the same and that’s how we arrive at this point as the feud between cousins starts to heat up. Mercy’s match was first. Mercy came to the ring to a chorus of boos from the crowd, but seemed unphased with laser focus as she paced the ring back and forth. Then Johnny Payne came out and introduced her opponent for the night, Johnny’s old trainer, and 4 time 3xW Heavyweight Champion, Devon Levine. As soon as Levine hit the ring Mercy was all over him, not even giving him a moment to get ready. Due to this Mercy dominated the early going of the match, but the experienced veteran was able to post a comeback and brought things back more even keel, where the fans witnessed a lot of chain wrestling. Now let’s show you the ending to this match.
Devon shoots Mercy into the ropes then as she comes back on him he lifts up his right foot and hits a big boot to the face, knocking Mercy backward and to the ground. Devon drops down to pin her, but when he does Mercy reverses the pin attempt into an armbar, yanking back on the arm. Devon reaches for the ropes and grabs it frantically. The referee calls for the break of the hold, but Mercy doesn’t break and keeps pulling back, until just milliseconds before she’s get DQ’d, then finally relinquishes the arm.
Devon rolls away, shaking the arm, the same arm Mercy had been working on the entire match. Mercy unleashes a series of kicks on Devon, chopping at the legs and the knees, finally clipping him from the side with a leg sweep that drops him to his knees. Then she hits a superkick on his right shoulder, furthering the damage. Then Mercy bounces the ropes but when she does, Devon hits a rise up clothesline, taking Mercy off her feet, but immediately grabbing his arm after the fact. Then Devon goes to lift up Mercy and motions for his signature Devolution move, but before he can get her lifted to his shoulders his arm goes out again and he drops her to her feet. She hits a spinning backfist on Devon, then she leaps up, grabs his right arm snugly between both legs, and falls to the mat with the impact jerking the shoulder socket in a move she calls the Dislocator. Then she covers for the three count to pick up a win in her singles debut.
The scene then cuts back to the studio.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: As soon as the match was over, Mercy called for a microphone, then introduced Johnny to his opponent for the night, then out came Red Dragon, the death match legend with a 20 year career spanning a plethora of companies where Red Dragon established himself as one of the most violent wrestlers the business had ever seen. We’ll go right to the ring for the action on this one.
The bell rings. As soon as it does, Red Dragon rolls out of the ring and starts fishing around under the ring for anything he can get his hands on, tossing in chairs, 2x4s, a baseball bat, then finally sliding in a chair. Then he climbs back in the ring and goes to pick up a chair and turns, but as soon as he does he’s met with a Johnny Payne Kick (Pele kick), the chair driving right into his nose and breaking it. Red Dragon gets back to his feet, but when he does Johnny hits him with Heroes Finish (belly to back inverted mat slam) onto a chair and covers him for the three count to pick up the win.
Johnny leans out over the ropes and smiles at his cousin, who glares back at him as the scene cuts away.
Until Next Time
The feed shifts over to the backstage area once again where we find JC Keeton making his way out of the building, a slow hand reaching for the door. Just as he’s about to push, the sound of heels walking at a quickened pace are heard. Keeton turns around, and the camera pans out to show the heels having belonged to the co-owner of EPIC, Analicia Morales-Connors. She stares at him for a moment with a serious expression before speaking.
Analicia Morales-Connors: I… I’m glad I caught you. I just wanted to say that on behalf of EPIC..
A sigh escapes Analicia before she shakes her head and starts over.
Analicia Morales-Connors: Oh fuck the company crap. Look, while I haven’t experienced what you have, I know how much it would kill me and I’m sorry this ended up happening. While you can be a hard headed, immature, oblivious and self-centered fool at times, you didn’t deserve this kid. Also, this may come as a shock to you but I don’t give a damn whether Quinn likes this or not but you’ll always have a place here as long as I’m around. We can sort out the details sometime soon if you’d like. You were bold enough to come to my son’s wedding, I’m sure you wouldn’t be afraid of coming to our home either. Just something to think about.
Smirking a little, Analicia gives a quick nod before she turns to walk away.
JC Keeton: Hey wait…
She turns and looks back at him.
JC Keeton: Thanks, that really means a lot.
With that he exits the building, maybe not for the last time.
Omaha Hardcore vs. D.D.S.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: After getting a bit of insight into the team known as Omaha Hardcore previously, it’s now time to watch them in action as they take on the Dynamo Delivery Service. Will DDS take their first win here at EPIC? Will Omaha Hardcore follow up on their words with action? We’re about to find out.
The attention is placed back to the monitor which takes us to ringside. In the ring we see Rosie and Natalie mid-move, Sinn taking her down with a Headscissors, Natalie staggering back into the corner, allowing Rose to follow up with a Handspring Back Elbow. She then brings her out of the corner with a Headlock Bulldog. She goes for the cover, only to have it be broken up by Emmie. The slight distraction allows Natalie to clock Rosie from behind with a Discus Elbow, tagging in her partner. The duo then pick up Rosie and try for a Double Suplex, only to have Sinn counter it into a Double DDT onto both of them. Making the tag to Flip, they decide to end things right then and there, grabbing a hold of Emmie and dropping her with the 53rd and Third (Flip does a powerbomb while Rosie does a back cracker at the same time), pinning the dazed DDS member for the three count.
A Mystery Unsolved?
Cameras cut to the backstage area where we see Bridget Lewis-Killings and Terra Mason standing by. While Terra is known to have acquired a distant gaze, it’s noticeable that Bridget has one herself. Mason could help but look at her a bit perplexed as she spoke.
Terra Mason: Bridget, I think you might be a bit broken. Your eyes are gazing upon a figure we do not see beyond this room. Have you spotted a ghost perhaps?
Snapping back to reality, Bridget is quick to shake off the question, flashing a bit of a nervous smile, she speaks up.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: No, no I’m fine. I wanted to get a word with you regarding the identity of El D’s opponent for tonight’s main event. We tried to reach Daniel Dream on the matter but he wasn’t available for questioning.
Terra Mason: What makes you think that I am Bridget? Just because I stand here does not mean I am open to answering your questions. You see I answered your call to send a simple message to my end boss. What you have in your possession, that beautiful prize is something that you want to keep but I need to have. Too many questions have been raised and I am tired of leaving them in silence. Now it is the time for the damaged to be in charge of the play yard and I will make sure that starts at Summer of Sin.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: What about El Diablo Blanco’s opponent?
Terra Mason: Silly Bridget, we’re about to find out that person’s identity together. I just know it’s going to be the boss’ biggest challenge so far. Care to join me?
Terra smiles wickedly which causes Bridget to back away, feeling a little uncomfortable as the scene slowly switches back to the studio.
World Champion El Diablo Blanco vs. An opponent of Terra & Dream’s choice
Bridget Lewis-Killings: We now bring you to your main event which sees the EPIC World Champion El Diablo Blanco taking on an opponent we still have yet to know the identity of. Calling it the champion’s biggest obstacle yet, there are numerous talents both in and out of the company who could be brought in to present this challenge. We now take you to ringside one last time to see how all this transpires.
Turning the attention to the monitor one last time, we see the ringside area. The champion El D waiting in the ring for his opponent. Some time passes and no music starts, no motion noted, this leaving both Diablo and the fans confused. Suddenly out from the crowd come four masked men who slide into the ring and clobber the champion from behind. The group begin stomping on El D in sync but before further damage can be done, they are chased out by both Terra Mason and Daniel Dream who have stormed out from the back. They both check to make sure the champion is doing alright before looking at each other suspiciously as the scene fades to the Amazon Prime and EPIC logos respectively.
